Institutional Advancement/Public Relations

The mission of the Institutional Advancement Office is to promote the vision, strategic plan and goals of the College and the College Foundation through effective communications and resource development. Specific activities include (1) implementing a comprehensive marketing plan to promote the College; (2) overseeing direct communications, including public and media relations; and (3) supporting the day-to-day activities of the Foundation, including fundraising activities.

 

The office is located in the Administration Building and staffed by Jeanne M.  Brown and a student assistant. We are here to help students, staff and members of the community on Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

 

Services

We handle marketing, advertising and public relations for all campus departments and organizations. Working in conjunction with the Publications Office, services include design and production of all printed marketing materials, press releases, development of strategic and marketing plans and more.

The Institutional Advancement Office also operates the news and events and featured program sections of the website's home page, some of the campus emergency communications systems, the campus announcement and priority alerts sections of the my vcccd.edu portal and two electronic message board systems to display college announcements. The Marquee is located at the corner of Collins Avenue and Campus Park Drive and the Message Boards are located throughout campus.
